CANVASSERS (FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME & TEMPORARY) (Closed)

350NH Action canvassers advocate for key climate issues and candidates. Canvassers will knock door to door across NH through the November 5th election to build support & get out the vote for amazing climate champions! This is a temporary position. 

Canvassers will be expected to: 

  • Canvass door-to-door in districts across NH

  • Be available to canvass between 1pm-6pm weekdays, and 10am-6pm on weekends, schedule decided individually based on availability

Qualifications

  • A desire to fight for climate justice and elect climate champions

  • Experience canvassing (volunteer or paid), not required but preferred 

  • Strong communication skills and follow through

  • Reliable transportation, smart phone, laptop/computer, and proof vaccination & all booster shots

Compensation & Commitment  

  • Canvassers will be compensated $26 per hour, paid every two weeks. 

  • Canvassers will average 20-40 hours per week.

  • These positions will start October 14th and go through November 8th

350NH Deputy Director (Closed)

350 New Hampshire is seeking a Deputy Director to join our team! This role is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop skills, make an impact, and be a part of an amazing organization. The Deputy  Director works in partnership with the Executive Director to manage the organization and grow its power to advance climate justice in New Hampshire. The Deputy Director will co-lead fundraising and lead operations for both 350NH and 350NH Action, our 501c4 sister organization. 

The 350NH Deputy Director is responsible for:

Organizational Management

  • Support organizational strategy development, strategic planning, assessment and review as whole team and alongside Executive Director

  • Co-manage/support staff retreat planning 2-3 times per year

  • Manage 1-2 full time organizers

  • Manage human resources policies and needs

Fundraising

  • Work with the Executive Director to develop and implement an annual fundraising plan to raise $650-750K in 2025 and to continue to increase 350NH’s operating budget over the next 3-5 years.  

  • Work with the national network of independent 350 groups to leverage national grant funding.

  • Manage major donor fundraising. Nurture existing relationships between donors and 350NH and make bi-annual asks for support. Retain and increase current donor support and work with staff and board to bring in new donors.

  • Manage 350NH’s annual fundraising campaign (two appeals minimum/year between c3 and c4 entities) and monthly sustaining membership goals.

  • Support the Executive Director in grant fundraising.

Financial Management & Legal Compliance

  • Create and manage 350NH and 350NH Action’s budgets and work with the Executive Director to make fiscally responsible spending decisions. 

  • Work with the bookkeeper and board treasurer to keep accurate records, approve invoices and review profit & loss detail monthly. 

  • Ensure that all election reporting (independent expenditure and FEC reports) are filed accurately and by the deadline.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant program or organizational management experience, with experience managing staff.

  • Enthusiasm for fundraising with demonstrable track record of raising money for a nonprofit organization through individual and foundation fundraising preferred.

  • Strong writing skills; grant writing experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills for talking with donors and supporters

  • Highly organized/detail-oriented

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage own workload; highly self-directed and driven

CLOSED - 350NH Youth Climate Fellowship: 2024 - 2025

Do you want to join a powerful group of youth climate activists and take your skills to the next level? Do you want to plan climate strikes, shut down coal plants, and save our future? Then the 350NH Youth Fellowship is the perfect role for you! Apply to be a Youth Fellow and run actions, trainings, and have fun organizing to stop the climate crisis with high schoolers from across New Hampshire.

Potential Fellow Roles:

  • Facilitation Lead: runs meetings, attends nation-wide youth coalition meetings with Future Coalition, in charge of checking in with other fellows and holding the team accountable to their goals; helps other fellows accomplish tasks.

  • Training Lead: in charge of choosing trainings for the team, bringing in speakers, and holding workshops as desired by the team. 

  • Recruitment Lead: in charge of outreach and absorption of new students; has one-on-ones as needed, and supports the team on outreach at their own schools.

  • Action Lead: in charge of leading in-person or digital events and actions, bottom lining planning and strategy, and checking in with working teams or groups.

Expectations:

  • Fellowship runs from September 2023 to June 2024

  • Fellows are expected to spend around 4 hours per week on fellowship duties, more on weeks where we have large actions or events

    • Fellows meet once a week & lead general Youth Team meetings weekly on Sunday nights

    • Fellows are not restricted from having jobs, or extracurriculars by being a part of the fellowship, and they are encouraged to get involved in other causes/passions; but take on this fellowship role only if they have the capacity

  • Fellows will help the Youth Team decide on direction for actions, training, and events, while building a strong, powerful community of youth activists

  • Fellows will receive monthly $150 stipends, 350NH swag, and will be reimbursed for travel or event expenses.

Closed - Youth Campaign Organizer

The 350NH Youth Organizer will manage 350NH’s youth summer internship program and school year fellowship programs. The youth organizer will engage youth across NH in climate activism and support state and national campaigns for climate justice. Through the summer, the Youth Organizer will support six summer interns with weekly check-ins and coaching. In the school year, the Youth Organizer will support 350NH’s youth-led high school organizing program with campaign planning, recruitment, canvassing, training and organizational development. The Youth Organizer will expand 350NH’s statewide youth network by making new connections with teachers and club advisors and establishing a presence on college campuses.  

Position Type: Full-time (35 hrs/wk) 

Start date: End of July

Compensation : $ 47,840-$50,000

350NH Action is a grassroots climate justice organization. Our mission is to elect progressive climate champions who support our vision for a just transition to 100% renewable energy at the local, state and federal level.

  • Attend canvassing trainings

  • Canvass door-to-door in districts across NH

  • Be available to canvass between 1pm-5pm weeknights, and 10am-5pm on Saturday’s (schedule decided individually based on availability) 

  • Willingness to participate in phone banking 

  • Preference for applicant to be available Thursday through Saturday, schedule flexibility can be discussed individually 

Qualifications:

  • A desire to fight for climate justice and elect climate champions

  • Experience canvassing (volunteer or paid), not required but preferred 

  • Strong communication skills and follow through

Closed - Youth Climate JUSTICE SUMMER Internship: by April 24th

350NH is a community organization working to stop the climate crisis. We run campaigns to shut down fossil fuel infrastructure and bring 100% renewable energy to NH. We are fighting for climate action in New Hampshire and bringing youth voices to the forefront of the climate movement! We’re hiring a team of summer youth interns to support our campaigns for climate justice. A 350NH internship will help you take your climate organizing and advocacy skills to a whole new level! 

Who Can Apply:

Youth ages 16-21 who are interested in learning more about climate justice and supporting the mission and campaigns at 350NH.

Time & Compensation:

The Internship runs from June 21 - August 18. Interns are expected to work 16 hours per week, and to be available to work flexible hours Wednesday - Friday with occasional weekend events. Compensation is $2,000 in the form of two monthly stipends of $1,000 each. Interns may use this program to meet school internship credit requirements when relevant. It is a requirement to attend the Summer Youth Retreat from July 19-21.

Internship Responsibilities:

  • Plan exciting actions and visibility opportunities in the community to spread awareness about 350NH’s campaigns for climate justice.

  • Canvass with 350NH staff and volunteers bi-weekly at events, farmers markets, or door-to-door.

  • Recruit volunteers and community members to participate in canvassing, actions, and climate justice education.

  • Plan and execute the 350NH Youth Climate Retreat in July.

  • Support fundraising by signing up monthly donors and planning grassroots fundraising events at partner businesses.

  • Create content and write materials for media attention, and the 350NH Youth Team Instagram.

  • Work to elect climate champions across the state in local New Hampshire races.

CLIMATE ELECTION ORGANIZER

Job Description: Organizers talk to voters about the most pressing climate issues facing NH communities. Organizers will get candidates and elected officials on the record refusing fossil fuel money and supporting the Green New Deal, and participate in 350NH’s campaigns to end the use of fossil fuels.  This role will include training for first time organizers and plenty of room to use existing skills for more experienced electoral activists. 

CLIMATE ELECTION ORGANIZERS Responsibilities:

  • Climate deep canvassing and candidate canvassing.

  • Phone banks to turn people out to vote for climate champions.

  • Recruit volunteers to participate in electoral programs through phone banking and canvasses.

  • Participate in staff meetings and strategy sessions.

  • Direct Candidate Engagement on fossil fuel money donations and additional climate policy issues.

  • Recruit and organize community members in support of 350NH general campaigns and programs including:

    • No Coal No Gas

    • People vs. Fossil Fuels

Required Qualifications:
