When it comes to climate change, the science is sound. Scientists universally agree that we are in a human-induced climate crisis and we must turn it around. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has written their report. But this isn’t a blog post about the science.
Politics has dictated a lot of environmental policy with more consideration for fossil fuel companies than for this Earth we live on. Fossil fuel executives have put money into the pockets of politicians to ensure the industry is allowed to continue polluting our air and water for profit. This, among other reasons, is why 350 New Hampshire and 350 Action are taking steps to build a grassroots climate justice movement.
Ahead of the 2020 elections, action is crucial. This isn’t just about winning an election, it is about electing a climate champion who will take action to stop the climate crisis. We need leaders who will support a just transition to renewable energy sources and break the influence that fossil fuel companies have on our politics.
That is why we are here: 350 New Hampshire Action! We are engaging with candidates on a range of climate issues, mobilizing the people of New Hampshire, and fighting for a liveable future for all!
